Playards vs. Cribs

Being a parent to twins, you will most likely find yourself purchasing two of, well, almost everything.  A crib is one of them.  I am all about finding what works best with my budget, along with the best deals.

Here's the thing: you DON'T need to spend $100-$200 on a crib for each baby.

As a matter of fact, you don't even need to buy a crib at all!  What works for us are the playards. They are half the price ($42.50 @ Walmart).  You just unfold it and place the mat inside.  Plus, it's super light and easy to move around.  I also don't have to worry about the babies hitting their heads on the side or getting caught between any bars.  Also, if you're traveling, you can just fold it up and place it in the carrying case (which is small) and take it with you on the plane or in the car.
When we visited my parents for Christmas, they also had two playards for them to sleep in.  They work out really nicely!  I highly prefer them over cribs now.  In the beginning, we had the babies sleep together, but after a couple months they got too big and active, so we separated them.  We should have done that a long time ago because now they sleep all night long!
